Singapore, 23 November – The Singapore Tourism Board today announced details of the online redemption process for SingapoRediscovers Vouchers, which will be available to all Singapore citizens aged 18 and above in 2020. The redemption process will be from 1 December 2020 to 30 June 2021.

All Singaporeans above 18 years of age are also entitled to purchase up to six subsidised child or youth tickets for attractions and tours, if they have family members under the age of 18. For those who need help with digital transactions, physical counters will be set up island-wide to provide assistance.

STB Chief Executive Mr Keith Tan said: “The SingapoRediscovers Vouchers aim to support Singapore’s tourism sector by stimulating domestic consumption of hotels, attractions and tours. We have designed the redemption process to be safe, easy and inclusive for all Singaporeans, and we hope that they will take this opportunity to support tourism businesses, while rediscovering what they love about Singapore.”

He added: “Singaporeans can look forward to many attractive deals, including packages that combine staycations, attractions and tours. There is no need to rush to use the Vouchers, as STB will continue to work with tourism businesses to roll out more deals throughout the scheme period.”

Redemption made easy

The SingapoRediscovers Vouchers can be redeemed online through five authorised booking partners: Changi Travel Services (also known as Changi Recommends), GlobalTix, Klook & UOB Travel Planners (as consortium members), Traveloka and Trip.com.[1]

Users can redeem their Vouchers by following these steps:

1.     Have your SingPass ready. Citizens are encouraged to register for a SingPass account if they do not have one, or reset their SingPass password if they have forgotten it, before the scheme commences on 1 Dec 2020.

2.     Choose your products. Browse the websites of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers authorised booking partners. Eligible products are marked with the SingapoRediscovers Vouchers icon (see Annex C for examples).

3.     Add your item(s) to the shopping cart. To pay, click “Use SingapoRediscovers Vouchers” at the checkout page to go to go.gov.sg/srvbalance.

4.     Login with SingPass. Log in to choose the amount of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers you want to use and also to activate child/youth subsidies if applicable.

  • Select Voucher amount to use.
  • Activate child/youth subsidies. If you are purchasing child/youth tickets, please declare details of any family members under the age of 18. You will then receive $10 subsidies for up to six child/youth tickets. Note that any child/youth subsidies are automatically deducted from your checkout amount, hence you may actually need fewer Vouchers to complete the purchase.

5.     Use the generated Voucher code. Copy and paste it on the checkout page, and pay the outstanding amount (if any).

6     Complete the checkout process within 10 minutes. Your Vouchers are only deducted after you have completed the booking.  Enjoy your SingapoRediscovers Vouchers experience!

From 1 December 2020, users can check their SingapoRediscovers Vouchers balance and activate child/youth subsidies on go.gov.sg/srvbalance, a website provided by LifeSG

Safe and secure authentication

SingapoRediscovers Vouchers are for personal use only. They are non-transferable, to minimise the risk of fraud or Voucher scams. Redemption of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers will require secure authentication using SingPass, and citizens are encouraged to register for a SingPass account now if they do not have one, as account setup will take time. Members of the public are advised not to seek assistance from strangers in setting up their SingPass accounts or resetting their SingPass passwords.

Preventing fraud: SingPass users are reminded not to share their SingPass login information and OTP (one-time password) with anyone, and to be careful of unsolicited text messages or web links that direct them to suspicious portals claiming to be SingapoRediscovers Vouchers’ authorised booking partners to avoid falling prey to scams. Members of the public can only make purchases through the five authorised booking partners online or at their physical locations across the country.

For more information on scams, members of the public can visit www.scamalert.sg or call the anti-scam hotline at 1800-722-6688. Anyone with information on such scams may call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness

Resale of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers is not allowed. STB takes a serious view on abuses such as fraud, profiteering and resale of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers, and will monitor the usage of Vouchers to ensure they are used for their intended purpose. STB will work with third party platforms to monitor any resale of Vouchers, and take appropriate action where needed, such as taking down Voucher listings and/or forfeiting all unutilised SingapoRediscovers Vouchers. STB may also refer cases, where appropriate, to the Singapore Police Force for further investigation.
