Singapore is home to more than 150 International Non-Profit Organisations (INPOs) including the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), The World Bank Group, Tax Free World Association (TTWA), International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Singapore has maintained leading positions in the global rankings for association conventions and meetings. In 2013, for the 12th consecutive year, the island was named Asia’s Top Convention City, according to global rankings by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). In addition, Singapore is the only Asian city in the Top Ten Convention Cities in the world, alongside cities such as Paris, Madrid, Vienna, Barcelona and Berlin.
According to the Union of International Associations (UIA), Singapore was the Top International Meeting Country for the third time and the Top International Meeting City for the seventh consecutive year in 2012.
Some of the notable association conventions that Singapore hosted in 2013 include the 79th World Library and Information Congress, World Engineers’ Summit, 52nd ACI World Congress and the FIATA World Congress.
