The Training Industry Professionals in Tourism (TIP-iT) supports tourism companies in employee upgrading and talent and leadership development. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The TIP-iT is open to all Singapore-registered businesses/companies.

Proposed projects should fall under one of the following categories:

  • Employee Upgrading - Provides incentives for training and course development in tourism-related skill sets which enhances the capability and productivity of the workforce. Scope of training supported includes New/Specialised Skills, Multi-skilling, and Enhanced Service Delivery.
  • Tourism Talent and Leadership Development - A scholarship scheme which aims to attract young talents into the tourism sector and groom middle management leaders of tourism companies to be leaders of tomorrow

Qualifying Costs

Certified Courses

Up to 90% of qualifying costs, which include:

  • Course Fees
  • Absentee Payroll
Up to 50% of qualifying costs, which include:
  • Cost of Living
    Allowance (COLA)
  • Economy Airfare


Non-Certified Courses

  • Fixed Quantum per trainee per training day
     

Up to 90% of qualifying costs, which include:

  • Trainer Fees
    (includes courseware development
    /customisation)
  • Absentee Payroll support for subsequent batches of training for the same course

Up to 50% of qualifying costs, which include:

  • Economy Airfare for overseas trainer
  • Accommodation for overseas trainer

Up to 50% of qualifying costs, which include:

  • Course Fees

 

Up to 50% of qualifying costs, which include:

  • Course Fees
  • Trainee Stipend
  • Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
  • Economy Airfare

 

The above funding is applicable for projects that are approved from 1 March 2020, for courses commencing between 1 March 2020 to 31 Dec 2020.

​​​Funding support is awarded based on STB's evaluation of the scope and merits of the project. 

APPLICATION EVALUATION

Proposed projects will be assessed on how they:

  • Enhance manpower capabilities to bring about improvements in business efficiency and visitor experience
  • Support the tourism sector in talent and leadership development

APPLICATION PROCESS

Interested applicants are advised to provide an executive summary of the proposed project, using the template provided here, to STB_Incentives@stb.gov.sg. An STB officer will be in touch to assist you further. The STB officer in-charge of your project will advise you if your proposed project is eligible for TIP-iT and to proceed with the application.  

Please note that projects that have commenced prior to STB’s offer of the grant may not be eligible.

DISBURSEMENT OF GRANT

Grants will be disbursed to successful applicants on a reimbursement basis, subject to achievement of the agreed project deliverables and milestones. Applicants are required to submit third-party audited documents on qualifying costs for the disbursement of grants, unless otherwise stated.
